GEOGRAPHIE
Peru is bordered in the west by the Pacific Ocean (3 000 kilometers
of coast). The Andes cordillera penetrates the country in
two chains which crosses it north to the south. Three great
areas are distinguished: The coast, long desert band located
between the Pacific Ocean and first buttresses of the Andes.
In the coastal valleys of north, were established the principal
cities of the area, Lima, Trujillo and Chiclayo. In the center
the mountain and the east, the forest or tropical jungle of
the Amazonian plain where the Amazon river takes its name.
THE
ANDES
Are divided into two large cordilleras separated by Altiplano
(the Western Cordillera and its volcanos still in activity,
of 5 700 to 6 800 m of altitude and the Eastern Cordillera,
dominated by Illampu (6 485 m of altitude) and Illimani 6882
m.
CLIMATE
In Peru, the climate is variable according to 3 climatic areas:
Costa (littoral), subtropical almost without rain. Sierra,
moderated or fresh according to altitude (forts variations
in temperatures between the day and the night). Selva (Amazonia),
equatorial heat and wet. Temperature of 3°C with 26°C.

HISTORY
Peru 1000 years before JC to the XIème century, different
cultures are opened with Chavin, and Pacaras...
From 1200 to 1530 reigns INCA civilization until the arrival
of the Pizarro conquistador who melts Lima in 1535. The country
is placed under territorial jurisdiction of Spain in 1563.
In 1821, Peru proclaims its independence and slavery is abolished
in 1854. In 1942, the country gains a part of Ecuador. In
2000, president A. Fujimori is relieved and Valentine Paniagua,
at the moment the president is Alejandro Toledo Manrique.
